![]() After I installed the patch, the video is of noticeably better quality, though. I've been renewing my computer hardware, so I had to reinstall PowerDirector. Not sure if it was a missing patch I added to PowerDirector, or a better recording, but it's fine now. The audio is better now, no distortions as fas as I could hear. I just encoded a new video, again with a wave audio file, and an mp4. That gives enough room for some level increase in PD.Īudio in Videos are usually encoded at 48,000.Īudiacity can record the audio at many different rates. It is best if the imported audio file is at about -3 to -6 DB. ![]() PD has a tendency to increase the level of audio files. I was looking for an option to choose between encoding as 44100, 48000, or any other number, but found that option nowhere in the settings.Īny suggestions?Check the audio level of the WAV. Still, I've tried feeding a 48 Khz file to PD12, and the audio is no better. It's clear that something undesirable happens to the audio in PD12, but what is it? I've wondered if it can be, that sometimes the audio file from Audacity is 44100 Hz, but PD12 encodes in 48000 Hz. The edited wave file alone sounds fine, and when I encode video and audio together in FFMPEG, the audio also sounds fine in the resulting file. I sound like Darth Sidious in the Star Wars movies, or someone with bad laryngitis. The audio of the encoded MP4 file is simply horrible. ![]() Sometimes I do the syncing in Audacity, sometimes in PD12. I drag the audio file, usually a *.wav file, to replace the deleted original audio. I drag the video to the timeline of PD12, and delete the audio track of the video file. I remove noise, compress, boost bass and treble, use a hard limiter, and normalise. I record my videos on my phone or my webcam, and the audio seperately in Audacity. ![]()
